Palestinian-Chilean star Elyanna continues her global rise after being selected for an official song on the soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The 24-year-old artist joins Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez on the track “Illuminate,” a powerful fusion of alternative R&B, Arabic melodies and international pop influences.
Produced by Grammy-winning producer Cirkut, the song highlights themes of identity, resilience and cultural unity. “Illuminate” blends Elyanna’s Arabic vocals and Latin-inspired sound with Reyez’s emotional delivery, creating a track designed to connect audiences across borders through music and football.
The collaboration marks another historic achievement for Elyanna, who has become one of the leading Arab artists on the international stage. FIFA described the song as part of its vision to celebrate diversity and global connection ahead of the tournament hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Elyanna also confirmed she will perform during the World Cup opening celebrations in Toronto on June 12, one of three opening ceremonies planned for the tournament. Additional ceremonies will take place in Mexico City and Los Angeles.
Over the past two years, Elyanna has continued breaking barriers for Arabic-language music worldwide. In 2023, she became the first artist to perform a full Arabic set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. She later made history again as the first artist to sing entirely in Arabic on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The singer has also collaborated with British band Coldplay on the song “We Pray” before joining the group on an international tour last year, further strengthening her presence in the global music scene.
“Illuminate” is part of FIFA’s growing musical campaign for the 2026 tournament. Other official tracks released this year include “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy, alongside songs from Jelly Roll, Carin Leon, Belinda, Los Angeles Azules, Daddy Yankee and Shenseea.
