Abu Dhabi / Berlin — Anghami, the leading music streaming platform in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced a new partnership with Cyanite, a company specializing in AI-powered music analysis and metadata generation.
Through this collaboration, 2.5 million songs from Anghami’s catalog will be enriched with AI-generated metadata, helping improve music discovery and recommendation across the platform.
AI Meets One of the World’s Richest Music Catalogs
What makes this partnership particularly significant is the cultural context of Anghami’s catalog. A large portion of its music library consists of Arabic repertoire, which has historically been difficult for traditional metadata systems—often designed around Western music—to classify accurately.
Cyanite’s audio-based AI technology analyzes the sound of a track directly rather than relying only on existing metadata or language-dependent tags. This allows the system to identify characteristics such as:
- Mood and emotion
- Genre and sub-genre
- Instrumentation
- Energy and atmosphere
- Musical similarity between tracks
Because the analysis is language-independent, Arabic music can be categorized and tagged with the same level of detail as Western catalogs.
A Partnership That Started in 2025
The collaboration follows a multi-month testing phase, which ultimately led to a formal partnership that has been active since Q4 2025.
Since then, Anghami has been continuously processing more tracks through Cyanite’s API, automatically generating detailed metadata for millions of songs in its catalog.
The enriched data is already helping improve Anghami’s recommendation algorithms, enabling more precise playlist creation and personalized music discovery for listeners across the region.
Improving Music Personalization
For Anghami, integrating Cyanite’s technology means unlocking deeper personalization across one of the most culturally diverse music catalogs in the world.
For Cyanite, the partnership represents another step toward building a more inclusive and globally representative understanding of music, ensuring that AI-driven discovery works just as well for Arabic music as it does for Western genres.
As the partnership continues to expand, more tracks are expected to be processed and integrated into Anghami’s recommendation systems—bringing smarter discovery and richer music experiences to millions of listeners across the MENA region.
